If women are said to have power over men, couldn't it also be said that men have even more power over women?
I say this because it is their actions that lead women to think about a way to stop this war and therefore in a way the man egged the women like Lysistrata to think beyond their boundaries and come up with this idea of abstinence.
So I'm gonna keep it short and sweet and open it up for discussion...what do you guys think that the men are the one with the central power and that from their power women obtain theirs?

i think that in the time that the play was written, the men were the main sources of power, and that women got their power from how powerful the men were. but at the same time, in the hosue i could see the women as have the power, out of the public eye, and the power of women was hidden away, but publicly known about.
I think the men did have power but the way Lysistrata was able to manipulate it was through something she knew each man needed which was sex.
However the saying that behind every great man theres a great woman. If a man doesn't have the love and compassion of his wife, or watever than his strength begins to fail.
