Who was the real villain?

Hedda can be the villain because, well, if you dont know that by now then you have a little problem dont you?

George can also be seen as the main villain because his desire to obtain the professoship and to please Hedda leads him to be dishonest, hide the manuscript, which to a certain extent leads to the end of Hedda.

Thea can be also be seen as the villain because she controls Lovborg and inderectly lets Hedda go crazy because of this which in a way leads her to the ending of her life.

Lovborg, too can be the villain becuase well wasnt he the one causing all the trouble and didnt her literally kill Thea and her hopes?

And Brack...welll I'll save him for later!!!!!!

Its pretty obvious that Hedda can be viewed as the villain because she is unpredictable, and somewhat dishonest young woman who is not afraid to manipulate her husband and friends.

George is another person who I would consider a villain because he thinks more of himself or his studies rather than anyone else and his loyalty to Hedda causes him to do bad things like lying and stealing the manuscript.

I always thought that Ibsen was trying to prove that the men were the villian in the story, as they are constantly (Brack and Tesman) trying to take Hedda's power away from her.
